three ways to enjoy matcha, each with its own rhythm
STEP 1
sift
Sift 1-2 teaspoons of matcha into your bowl or cup.
STEP 2
add water
Add ½ cup (120 ml) hot water at 70–80°C (160–175°F) for usucha (thin tea), the standard preparation.
For koicha (thick tea), a more concentrated traditional pour, use ¼ cup (60 ml) instead.
STEP 3
whisk
Whisk briskly in an “M” or “W” motion until frothy and smooth.
STEP 4
sweeten
Add a touch of maple syrup or honey if you prefer a hint of sweetness.

Add ¼ cup (60 ml) hot water at 70–80°C (160–175°F) and whisk until fully blended.
STEP 3

Whisk until fully blended.

add milk
Add 1 cup (240 ml) warm milk of choice and stir until smooth.
Recommended milks: almond or macadamia for a clean, balanced flavor.
Tip: use unsweetened, barista-edition milk for the best texture and taste.
